Vegan Diary Day 4, 5 & 6

Day 4

Day 4 had a good begging , not a good ending thou :S

Rice noodles w/ vegetables for lunch [ BTW. Having trouble w/ ur vegan diet ? .. Seems like u’ve got nothing to eat ? …Now Now, put that GRASS ur calling lunch aside and listen to us ! Asian food is ur answer. We’ve actually been living on rice products and soy sauce !]

Guess what I had for dinner ..? SUSHI ! again ! only this this time I broke the rules and ate some cream cheese alongside w/ it ! and we snacked on some ice cream too. Truth is I couldn’t take it anymore ! I CANNOT GIVE UP MY DAIRY PRODUCTS ! I CANNOT !!!! And NEWSFLASH … I WON’T ! I need my cheese , i need my butter I need my Ice-cream I need my CALCIUM LOL !! So we decided we were DONE w/ veganism ! D-O-N-E . We’re eating dairy products now. Eggs are still prohibited !

Day 5 !

The cleaning lady made mashed potatoes and some beef for lunch :S so we ate a biiiiig bowl of Mash!! We didn't even stare at the meat ! We don't need it !

D&E went out at nite for some drinks ! it was like almost midnight when hunger struck ! so we had some cheap and delicious yumyuminourtumtum pizza ! Veggie one !!

Day 6 !

The Enis went to a party today ! They are sad to say they ate : MEAT !!!! It wasn't one of those Veggie-friendly parties ! and we didn't wanna starve to death !!! We had chicken :S …… ok yes we also ate chicharrones ! …… and ….. Beef :( It was either that or chugging on a six pack [YES !! Beer CAN be an entire meal ! XD ]

The Enis were kinda busy & tired yesterday so they kinda-sorta forgot bout the blog entry :( But guess what !!! Double entry today HORRAYS !

We’ve been CRAVING for cheese these past few days !! Like seriously WE NEED CHEESE !!!! I think we can definitely go months w/o meat but dairy products … ? OMG BECKY ! WE need Butter AND cheese AND yogurt !!! And we miss our beloved mayo so so so so utterly MUCH !

Enough whining LETS VEGGIE TALK ! We’ve been eating real yummy food actually ! We had some Chickpea-green plantain ‘picadillo(?)’w/ some white rice and tomato salad for yesterday’s lunch and We had Vegan Sushi nite <3

We made a real creamy tomato soup for today’s lunch w/ some pita bread and a tomato-cucumber-mint salad ! WE LOVE !! And we went out for dinner ! Wes could only eat 5 things in the menu ! How sad ! :S 5 out of 50, maybe ?

We’ve realized this veggie thing makes us go pee every hour or so ! ! ! and we’ve been eating a lot lately ! its like we never get full ! We eat and get hungry within an hour or so :S Hope we don't get any fatter !!! LOLS

Vegan Challenge : Day 1 !!

8:30 am --> Growling stomach !!! The Enis were seriously hungry so they woke up ! We though we would have sum cereal with soy milk for breakfast ^-^ …. but then we realized Enis cereal {Kellogg's Komplete w/ Almonds} has honey[that's a no-no ] in it :”( We seriously ran out of breakfast ideas ! But Enis chef-like-brain started -engineering ideas- [we wish lol ] so we ended up eating multigrain cookie-like thingies w/ sum oniontomatosoysugar ‘'marmalade’. It was actually real yumyum-in-our-tumtum *plans on makin large quantities ! We LOVE * *Ignores fact that they were CRAVING for sum cheese we had on our fridge *

Lunch was actually easier than we thought ! We made sum Pad Thai w/ tamarind sauce ,we just omitted Eggs and Chicken . We even had guest ovah and there we no complains …. Ok ..ok ! It was a tad too spicy ! but it was scrumptiously yummy. There was no need nor desire for meat ! I swear !

Sounds like we’re the perfect vegan specimen, huh ? ? ? ……..

….WE CHEATED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES !!! :( WE CHEATED !!! We didn't mean to !! WE SWEAR !!! We were out w/ a friend an i just grabbed her purse and got some cinnamon Altoids [we were craving for pizza by then :S] and shoved it into our mouths . 5 minutes later we checked the ingredients list just for curiosity … and BAAAm ! GELATIN [derived from collagen in animal’s skin :S]! effing kidding me ! Who would’ve though Altoids had gelatin in them !!! We now thinks all products should specify if they’re suitable for vegans… By law ! !!! After the gelatin incident we went for some coffee at this real Hella-yum pastry shop ![we were dying inside !!! ] The Enis asked if there was lactose/egg free products and they didn't even now !!! *urgh *not a vegan friendly world lol. so they just bought a regular coffee ; no milk of course and went to the supermarket next to the pastry shop ! We were in there like for 15 min trying to read all the small print [Insert complain bout product specifications HERE ! …AGAIN] in them cookies [entire aisle full of things wes couldn't eat ] till we found the oh-so-desired[maybe not] egg/lactose/honey free Cookie utopia lol ! We could say them cookies were tasty [banana cinnamon blablablahs ] but not as tasty as them pastries we had to stare at T_T

For dinner we whipped up a pasta salad with this weird shaped pasta called Pignolina [just semolin and water ] with sum avocado, tomato and broccoli ! It was actually tastier than it looked !

We’re actually OK w/ this challenge ! I did crave for some pizza and some Ice cream ! And i did feel limited when eating out but on the good side its busting our creativity . Helps us think outside the box [Bacon-made box LOL] *yawns !*

Feeling kinda tired hope im still excited bout this by tomorrow !

5-minutes-till-VEGAN-WEEK Complain !

Just wanted to complain bout how expensive soy milk can be !!!! Effing 3000 colones for a bottle of soy milk ?!?!!? Eni thinks its overpriced ! We thought grocery shopping would be cheaper now that we’re vegan … guess its not ! ….but anyways .. daddy’s the one paying for it so i got 2 bottles [got the CHEAPEST one ] and guess what ??? One of the bottles got kinda spilled all over the fridge URGH ! so it now just half full ! :S

D&E Vegan Week Challenge & Random Challenges Soon

Starting this August 3rd till the 9th, Erick and Diana are going on a strict vegan diet.

They will also v/b log about their experiences. Everyday you will see Erick post about the progress, thoughts, and advice. By the end of the week, Diana will post a vlog.

So here are the rules:

-Golden Rule : D&E Should/Will ask themselves : Does this shit that I'm about to shove in ma' mouth come from an animal ? If the answer is YES, D&E WILL NOT eat it. (Nini no bad words! I'd like this to be kid friendly! -D).
-No meat[ dah !]. Bugs are included too, just in case there's lack of protein, we won't resort to eating them.

-Cannot eat dairy products .

-NO CHEATING !

On another note, we would like you to challenge us to anything that you can possibly think of. Just leave your comment below.

Bunny Pinata Tutorial

Hey! This is the tutorial I made for Eni's B-Day Bunny pinata. Things you'll need:

1.Box
2.Nylon string
3.Bead, clip or bobby pin
4. Wrapping paper
5.Tape
6.Glue
7. Glitter
8. Cardboard

Step 1
Take your box and make a slit or a hole, if it doesn't have one already.

Step 2
Tie your string to a bobby pin, a clip or make a hook with a bead.

Step 3

Bring the thread through the hole or slit on the bottom of your box. Tape it in place.

Step 4

Decorate your box, whether you choose to paint it or wrap it in candy paper, it doesn't really matter as long as you like it. Keep in mind that you have to leave your hook untouched and tie it as well as you can, having candy flying all over the place from a pinata being accidentally dropped, because someone didn't really do a great job at making knots is unacceptable! Not to mention EPIC FAIL people...

Step 5

Roll cotton into a ball and glue it to the back of the pinata.

Step 6

Make your ears. Trace your lines onto a piece of cardboard or just skip it and cut it directly.

Step 7

Apply glue onto your ears and sprinkle glitter. Shake off any excess.

Step 8

Attach your ears to the box. Make a face, I tried glueing candy as a face. Didn't work with the glue I had. Try better quality and it might just work. Or you can do as I did, paint a face on it. I didn't have a marker so.... I used what I had at the moment and that turned out to be blackest black nail polish! Haha now that I think about it, I could have added falsies and lipstick for the ultimate bunny pinata!! I kid...

Step 9

There is no step 9! :) Hang that thing and swing away people!! :)

Eni and I had a conversation and we said that whatever happens, happens *wow how deep*. But most importantly, never expect the best thing to happen, because if it doesn't, you'll feel terribly disappointed.

Update: Nope. We didn't win and xteeener didn't judge on creativity. I don't mean to be a hater or anything, but let's just say everyone's entitled to their opinion. Were we disqualified because the song said "sh*tty" in it? Or maybe because we did not post the video until 2 hours after the contest had ended? Gee... eff that! Hey you guys! It's been so long since I posted my last entry! I miss doing this! :)

Anyway, this time we made another video. We really had loads of fun making it and I had to overcome my fears of being looked at by putting a bag on my head and walking in downtown San Jose. Eni talked me into it... I probably would have chickened out and just made him wear that, but he's manipulative. B*tch! I kid I love NiNi. :P

First off big thanks go out to McDonald's, thank you so much for your paper bag! It was one of the coolest things in the video. We just didn't know where to get a plain bag with nothing on it, but the McD one made the video that much more interesting. :P I sure got a few nasty looks and scared some people too, but it was well worth it.

About the cat in this video, I seriously don't know how I came up with that, I'm just really strange... And dreams aren't meant to make sense right, now are they? Since when have you dreamed of something that made the least sense?! Dreams don't make sense at all! Most of the time I can't even remember what I dreamed about... Dreams have no meaning for those of you who actually believed your Philosophy teacher. I never believed the baldy. :P

About the editing... it was ass... iMovie was giving me crap. Never get iMovie O8 people. Never! It took me over 12 hours to edit this.... No wonder why I couldn't get up for class. Sad Sad Sad.

I was at a friend's house and I got home a bit late and I forgot that eastern time in the US was a 2 hour difference for us, who live in a totally different time zone. So our entry was just in time, if not 2 hours too late. I sure hope xteener accepts this entry, because we worked really hard on this. We gave it our all! *dude I know I sound lame. I am lame*

I was going to post another video of me telling you guys why we made the video and how it all happened, why it was the way it was, but just the thought of editing and waiting 2 hours for it to upload was just TOO much. I need my beauty sleep now more than ever, because I've been looking terribly haggard lately. Heehee but now I know I can always resort to wearing a bag over my head if I just can't be bothered with putting on makeup that day! Haha maybe not!

I know last time, one guy, I mean, some of our readers didn't exactly think my explanation of podcasts was precisely clear. I was going to personally make a video, since I've had a lot of free time during these past few months of university vacations. I'll make one later, what will it be about? I still have no idea. Bear with me, you guys, please do.

Listen up you guys! I feel like it's been a while! Eni and I had been thinking about doing a music section, so here it is!

Our first ever recommendation will be Sliimy. Yes. Sliimy with double the "i". If you're a BIG fan of pop, but most importantly indie pop, you'll most likely ADORE him. If you're not into it, we suggest you stop reading.

We first came across this singer, while reading an article on one of our all-time favorite blogs: Perez Hilton's. He had posted a video, in which Sliimy was doing a praise-worthy cover of "Womanizer", originally performed and made famous by Britney Spears. The simplicity and the harmonious sounds attracted us into wanting to find out more.

This amazing 20 year-old artist hails from Saint-Etienne, France, and sounds just as good live, if not even better. His voice is quite pitchy, almost the one of a woman, but that just makes him even more unique. His songs are all so different and yet it seems like they're related in some way, as if he were telling a story. His music makes for amazing pick-me-up songs or simply songs you could listen to to chill. You get blues, pop, folk, ska, reggae, electronica in just the right amounts.

At first he made us think of Mika and Adele, but he's just pure Sliimy. You shouldn't compare. He's earned that right. He's happiness, he's rainbow, he's utopian, he's ugh! PERFECTION! Makes the heart go thumping like crazy!

Even though he does have some deliciously put together songs on his website, he has yet to release a complete album.

On his myspace you can find 5 songs, which are easily downloadable for free, if you follow the steps Eni showed you or you can buy his new single "Wake Up" on iTunes. This single is only available as a preview on myspace, but it is well worth the money. So go get it!

We adore his fun colorful style (aw! the skinny jeans and the cardis, not to mention the glasses and the curly hair just make us go: "Hands down! Sliimy is the definition of scrumptious-geek pop), but most importantly we really enjoy his work as a musician.

Only this time VIA TWITTER [D&E Strongly recommend the use of marvelous tWITTER. Twitter is now in the top three awesomest-most-used social networks; Outwon by Facebook of couse ], Bashin’ poor lil’-brit-hoe-gotta-love Lily Allen. But Good Ol’ Lily knows how to put a fight!! We just couldn’t get our eyes off twitter. It was just Twitterrific [yeah we know … the aplication blah blah blah , we copycats-no-creativity-phony bloggers XD Bleeeeh !] Well then … enough with the blah-blah: here’s a peak at the Twitter action !

D&E were a bit bored, OK, well, really bored, so they decided to visit the local mall. And as expected they went into Zara = not-

such-good-quality clothes but really affordable and cool.

They took advantage of their trip, and decided to give you a review on the new Zara clothes and some tips. This applies to both, the dudes and the gals.

BTW: We're no longer wanted shoppers at ZARA [ Yo'dids? Ever thought we could get banned off from the colosal INDITEX firm?-lmao- I mean ... Picture that!: Wis paying some weird geek for him to buy the IT item of the season for us to have it & be scrumptiously cool.(Just like the kids without ID buying liquor)]

D&E always make a mess. We drop clothes on the floor. Not to mention all the perfectly folded and aligned piles of tidy clothes that we always seem to knock over. We take ILLEGAL pics of the clothes. We sit on the floor and try on Kid Clothes. Plus we're REAL LOUD!

We own many pairs of leggings (most of them, we regret buying and never wear)enough to give you some useful tips. *Apologizing. Owns up to the fact that some of our posts are just a bit futile* we don't want you to make the same mistakes we did.

* Leggings:

Are basically tights, NOT PANTS, so don't ever wear them alone, without a garment that falls past your booty. You don't want your panties to show, right? Unless you're a hooker, you probably won't. You might find yourself picking a wedgie unintentionally. *doesn't want to tell you she's been there, but only because they were one size too small, but we always wear a skirt to cover the katoosh*

* Size:

If you can't try them on before you buy them, try going for a size bigger, leggings are usually tight, and you probably don't want them to be uncomfortable, unless you are willing to agonize just to look good.

*Materials:

DON'T EVER GO FOR METAL!! Yes, they're gorgeous and shiny but... Always read the tags and see what materials they are made of. From personal experience, I highly discourage you to buy the one with metal in them. They make you itchy, even if the size is just right. Besides, scratching through them DOES NOT HELP. *Doesn't want to admit it because she still wears them but that's because she's a .... what's it called Eni? Something with SDM Fill us in please.

* FYI: Get the ones that are as close to 100% cotton as possible, you probably won't find above 95% cotton, since you have to have at least 5 % of some sort stretchy material.

*Color:

Are you little overweight or have gigantic thighs? NEVER GO FOR VINYL SHINY THIGHS IN DARK HUES NOR IN LIGHTER ONES = NONE!!

Sorry to break it to you, fashionistas, but those make you look heavier than you really are. A LOT HEAVIER. It may sound like it's all the way around, but the shininess of the vinyl has the same effect as white conventional leggings or tights.

If you're lucky enough to be stick skinny, and you're legs make you look emaciated, you shouldn't hesitate to buy a pair of vinyl leggings, even if you're a guy. A stylish guy. They'll work like implants in the boobies of a porn star wannabe. Satisfaction guaranteed!!

PS: American Apparel has THE best vinyl and nylon leggings.

Also, please don't go animal print unless you're a hooker that is *thinking she should probably tell you those floral ones can also be put in the hooker category*... TOO BOLD, TOO TRASY, TOO FLASHY, JUST OVERALL NASTY! Go black and don't go back? *eff I totally ruined it here, whatevs, move on!*

PS: We went to Zara a couple days ago and got these so-called "denim leggings". One thing: THEY'RE NOT LEGGINGS. I have no idea why people keep using the term for pants. They're just ultra skinny jeans that's all. Leggings are leggings, pants are pants. It's amazing how even the industry can't tell them apart. *getting irritated*

The Eni's thought it might me cool & nice to teach YOU guys how to download music in a reliable,quik'n'eazy, safe way from Myspace music profiles. So listen up y'all !!!

1 - Go to MySpace Music

2- Search for your fave artists/songs/albums or w/e

3- Click on their profiles and copy the URL/link of the profile
Ex: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=88858489

4- Now go to www.file2hd.com

5- Paste the myspace profile URL in the URL blank spot [DUH!]

6- Check the -i have read and agreed the terms- box

7- Click on the AUDIO ball in the -filter- section

8- Click on the -get files- thingy XD

9-A list of songs is gonna show up on screen , search for the song you would like to download (MAKE SURE ITS FROM THE HIGH QUALITY LIST), and click on it, and it should start downloadin !!!!!!! hooorraaay !

The Enis actually prefer the -file2hd- method over Limewire.The download's pretty safe and quick ! So go ahead TRY IT !! Plus there's TONS of music you'll never get from limewire !

So, yeah, basically, I rose and shined 6 hours too early, the sun was hitting my room really bad so there was no way I could sleep with all that light.

I was watching some videos on youtube last night, and came across this Shane Dawson guy. We thought he was extremely funny, and we just love watching all those messed-up auditions on American Idol, so we were like, why not just show you this? since we all know it's your guilty pleasure too.

Hey, Didis here, some of our readers voted for cooking and food related stuff on our poll, so here you have this really cool video. It shows you how to make ice cream without the waiting for it to freeze in the fridge or using an ice cream-making machine, which I don't think many people own.

Brings back some nice memories, like when Charlie in Popular Mechanics For Kids, taught people how to make ice cream this same way, but with heavy covers, a spatula, and a black and red plaid fleece shirt!! <3

Why Podcasts Should Be King

Hey guys, we were emailing our cousin Violet, and suddenly the word "podcasting" came up, so I got inspired, once again.

If you still haven't started with the the podcast subscribing experience, we encourage you to do so right way!

Are podcast overrated??

Not at all! Here's why:

1) It's free. You know you gotta want it! I mean, seriously, who doesn't like free.

2) High quality podcasts. It is definitely available, but there's some really unpopular ones, those you should probably stay away from, because there might be a reason as to why people are not interested in listening.

3) Easy to use. *(Pictures for aesthetic purposes). I know you can read. I don't want to step on any toes and offend anyone with my doodles. Sorry could NOT upload signature didi work, but this came close. My doodles were corrupt or so "blogger" says.

4) Quick & easy downloads. You get to choose which episodes you want. If you don't like them, you can delete them from your download option list.

5) Professional educational material. You get all sorts of types of podcasts, whether it be in video or in audio format (there's even PDF format), the content is praise worthy (if you find the good ones). You can get languages courses (favorite! highly recommended), fun history facts, sex education, religious feed, really cool music, politics, news, comedy, and just overall worthy entertainment. Reading the reviews other listeners and viewers write can be key to judging podcasts without having to subscribe first.

6) Works better with ipod. I know it sounds so obvious, but I've owned miumiu ipod for almost 3 years, but I wasn't really interested in podcasts, until I actually knew what they were. How lame... But last year, I read about them on a Japanese language learning blog. We had to have them. We pulled a "I'm kinda bored, let's see if we can get anything free from this site". Tuh duh! It worked!

7) You won't regret it. Ok, now, if you happen to think it's a waste of your memory space, then just delete it, and next time don't read my posts. *feelings got hurt T__T

*It's not really necessary to subscribe through iTunes Store, you can easily do the same thing if you find a web site that podcasts. Don't be fooled though, there are some that come for free, others you would have to pay for According to my friend, they attempted to rip her off by charging her for something that, technically should be GRATIS. I'm not sure if it's the same for Windows users, but I believe it should.

Cookworks : Quik 'n'Eazy Yummy-In-Our-Tummy Dessert

Yo' Fellow I-like-to-cook Dudes & Gals': Today the Enis decided to share one of them delicious simple recipes that fills one's palate with Oh-so-sugary-goodness, One's heart with joy & one's teeth with Cavities XD (The Enis & The Didis strongly recomend Flossing after every meal n.n, you might not like what happens if u dont floss, Lets just say We Enis&Didis [E&D] wouldnt talk nor mingle with you i-have-cavities-and-fugly-tooth ppl XD)

Back to de recipe
So .. The dessert we have for you reader today is our all time fave BANOFEE PIE [yumyum!]. Its pretty simple so go grab a pen & paper , and the head of to do some grocerie shopping AND make sure to buy the following ingredients :

Bananas
Butter
Toffee (Dulce de leche)
One packet of McVities Hob-Nobs (Digestive)
Double cream, or whipping cream (If you alredy made Whipping cream make sure its sugar free[very important if you want an eatable dessert, otherwise you'll have a dessert SOOOO SWEET its uneatable XD])

OK ! lets get started
1. Crush the biscuits in a freezer bag with a rolling pin until they are reduced to crumbs. Gently heat some margarine in a saucepan until liquid (or just leave some out at room temperature to soften). Pour crumbs and liquid/soft margarine and mix in with the crumbs until they start to bind together. Transfer the biscuit crumbs to a round dish (a large Pyrex dish is good) and pat with a spoon so that they cover the base.

2. Pour/spoon the toffee from the tin onto the biscuit base of the Pyrex dish.

3. Slice the bananas and arrange them on top of the toffee.

4. Whip the cream until peaking, then fold on top and smooth out. Dust with chocolate powder for effect. Keep in the fridge until needed, covered with cling-film!

And Voilá ! You've just got one heck of a yummmy yummy yummy dessert

On a more informative (useful) note, we took to our blog to bring you the (what we consider to be the latest) scoop on how to achieve those magnificent celeb smiles, so you no longer feel self-conscious when flashing that beautiful grin at people. Here are some words of wisdom from Miss Jones.

We've been having apples after every single meal for the past 2 months. We thought it was our new toothpaste doing all the work (when in reality it wasn't that new, this is the second time that we've fully used up the whole tube, first time had no effect whatsoever), but now that we look back on it, it wasn't just the toothpaste scrubbing those nasty stains off! (duh moment and WTF).

We've tried sodium bicarbonate, lemon, even soap!, and all kinds of crazy homemade astringents, but from now on, we better stick to the sweeter fruit basket. Hopes this works for you too!!

We're ( yeap, YOU reader might be confused by this wacky, creepy use of plural, but it preeetaaay simple: 2 enis , 2 didis. The dids will explain later, wis just phony copycats XD ) in bed with our fave signature hoodie, listening to our fave songs {Amy Winehouse playin right now} & our virgin fingers ready for some Blablah !

Soo The Enis are on vacation , Veeeeery long vacations , and they've been very very lazy : as in lazy-almost-hobo-like-to-the-extreme lazy.

A typical day with us Enis :

Wake up round 1 pm, eat the first eatable thing we see, grab computah , open Facebook (wis get VERY carried away with our FB), sign in msn, and theres where the circle starts : chat chat chat , eat, Tweet, stare at computah,Tweet, change songtrack, sing, chat, stare, eat , stare, Tweet, stare , sing, pee, drinkwater, eat,facebook,water, stare, phone, pee, eat, msn, stare, Tweet, random distraction , yawn, stare, Tweet, laugh, msn, msn,msn,msn, stare, yawn , nap, eat, msn ….. blah, blah blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH.

So we were thinking geeeeeeez might aswell do something productive with our lifes , so we thought 'bout workin for some charity, fighting crime, helping the needy, u know the kinda stuff that fills ones heart with joy and gayness( as in gay=happy XD); And then it was when it ocurred to The Enis ! Geez lets be fulltimeblogfreaks, that way we wont feel bad cos of our couchpotato lifestyle, lack of a life fufilling job: we just couldnt handle it cos we're FULLTimeblogfreaks !!!!!Horray for that !!! Just A Review On Clothes: Muffincastle t-shirts

We first came across their website, about a month ago on Twitter. They were hosting a contest, in which, the people they had followed first to get some publicity, had to follow them back and spread the word to their friends to win one of the 5 t-shirts they had designed themselves.

Sadly, the concept of their game was lacking spice, so we couldn't snatch any of those t-shirts. I mean, even if they had horrid designs on them, no one would turn down a 100% cotton American Apparel t-shirt.

When it comes to cheap-looking and overpriced garments, we highly do NOT recommend you buy one, unless the purpose of wearing it is inside out. If you wish to flaunt it to tacky people, we believe they would appreciate it.
